GEORGE TRAIL TRANSLATION SERVICES MUSIC VIDEO
LYRICS
Yo, I’m a self-employed translator
And I’m here on a mission
To show you that I am
For real about my position
Those who judge my work don’t just look for
Linguistic mistakes or omissions
So, I try to be prepared for anything, like I would
Expect the Spanish Inquisition
The thing is, we all follow certain rules
When we communicate
Grammar and emphasis of individual words and
All the rest one could state
But my mastery of three languages
Means I’ve mastered three whole systems
And making sure it doesn’t deteriorate
Surely signifies wisdom
When I translate, I register facts and make sure that
Nothing important’s neglected
For it should be the truth, not merely whatever’s
Concluded that is reflected
And, yes, some words have different meanings
But one should not overlook the mood
Or be biased in their response
To the conveyed attitude
But I can’t always hope for advice on how to show
That these things are acknowledged
And I’d rather avert a situation
As sticky as a bowl of porridge
So I ruminate on what I write
Even when my clients refuse
Hence me including in my work the occasional
Comment to peruse
It’s basically an issue
That I always take to heart
Do you want my advice?
Well, maybe this is a good start:
Be wary of writing things that do not
Make sense logically
Here’s an example: “Do you think that
So-and-so’s my RAC?”
